Happy halloween!
October 30, 2009 on 1:42 pm | In Lori's journal | No CommentsThe term Halloween, originally spelled Hallowe’en, is shortened from All Hallows’ Even – e’en is a shortening of even, which is a shortening of evening. This is ultimately derived from the Old English Eallra Hālgena ǣfen. It is now known as “Eve of” All Saints’ Day, which is November 1st.This tradition was also adopted by Romanian people who celebrate it with specific Halloween costume party’s.Here is also associated with Dracula’s castle and it has become a tourist attraction all year round and especially during this holiday .I am gonna celebrate it near the fireplace with a glass of red wine and a good horror movie:)
