Old City of Nessebar Bulgaria
August 16, 2009 on 1:30 pm | In Vacation pictures | 4 CommentsNessebar one of the oldest towns in Europe is a rocky peninsula connected to the mainland via a narrow isthmus 850m long and 350 m wide .In 1956 it was declared and recognized as museum city because of his archeological and architectural values Today is an attractive place for romantic walks along the narrow cobbled streets, among the little shops offering hand crafted souvenirs ,pottery, crocheting, and jewelry. My first impression when i entered the city was like a journey back in time because of the many old churches and buildings . The first settlement (Tharacian Era) was established in 3000 BC. It also contains buildings and artifact’s from Helenic era,Roman era and the Byzantine era which gives the city a unique and special atmosphere.Beside the old buildings and houses the beach line is breathtaking beautiful with many little restaurant’s and a magnificent view. It’s a place where you can relax , gather your thoughts and enjoy the beauty of life in this place . The old historical value combined with new cultural current makes Nessebar a place definitely worth visiting .Here are some pictures and details about the city
